Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan - M.E.Ch.A.

The purpose of our club is to educate on the cultural, economical, political and social empowerment of Chicanos.  Also, to raise Chicanos through higher education and implementing plans of actions concerning Chicanos.

All students registered at Cesar Chavez High School are eligible to become members of the M.E.Ch.A Club.  Membership in this club shall be voluntary and anyone interested shall be able to join regardless of race, creed, and color. 

Officers are elected yearly for the office of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, Community Relations and Member Recruitment.  All members are expected to service the community, represent the club in a positive manner and be a postitive role model for the underclassmen.

We are very excited to start this year with two advisors. Mrs. Hurtado-Fox and Mrs. Rivera. We have many activities planned this year such as: guest speakers from the community and colleges/universities, along with community service opportunities, our annual Toy Drive with CHiP's For Kids and fundraisers.
